Abstract
Surgical therapy is the mainstem therapy in lung cancer for providing long term survival and/or cure. One of the most important prognostic factors which affects the survival is mediastinal lymphatic disease. Mediasti - noscopy is the most common used technique for the evaluation of mediastinal lymph node invasion in the preoperative period. The use of mediastinoscopy in clinical N0-1 patients is still debatable. The value of me - diastinoscopic evaluation of lymph nodes in lung cancer is presented in this review.
