Abstract

Abstract

Malignant vascular tumours are rarely seen and angiosarcoma which is the most common tumour in this group making less than 2% of all sarcomas. Angiosarcoma which frequently occurs in the heart, pericardium, breast, liver, skin, bone and soft tissues is rarely located in the lung and (if so) is usually metastatic. Primary pulmonary angiosarcoma originated from bronchial or pulmonary arteries has been reported in about 10 cases. This case, diagnosed as “nonsmall cell carcinoma” by endobronchial biopsy and found to be operable, was diagnosed as “primary pulmonary angiosarcoma” after the histopathological and immunohistochemical examination of pneumonectomy materials and organ screening.
