Abstract

Although there are some diagnostic and therapeutic protocols mentioned in the textbooks and in some renewed consensus reports, these are not always applied to daily practice. It is supposed that there are some special mistakes in the clinical practice of asthma in our country. Asthmatic patients can be misdiagnosed or other patients can be diagnosed as asthma, in addition to undertreatment which is a common problem. Patient education is important and more time should be spend on it. Most of the problems can be solved by educating the physicians in addition to asthmatic patients.
