Abstract

The most common adverse reaction of the drugs in the treatment of tuberculosis is hepatotoxicity. There is no agreement on the clinical approach to drug induced hepatotoxicity during anti-tuberculosis treatment. Because hepatotoxicity (11.3%) and elevation of transaminase (23.7%) were developed in our patients in the treatment of tuberculosis, this should be kept in mind during anti-tuberculosis therapy. But, death and failure of the tuberculosis therapy were not observed due to the hepatotoxicity. It was seen that the treatment of tuberculosis could successfully be completed with standard chemotherapy in patients who had drug induced hepatotoxicity.
