Abstract

Abstract

Elastofibroma dorsi is a benign and rare tumor of the chest wall which is slow-growing, noncapsulated and characterized by fibrous tissue proliferation with elastin. This tumor usually arises unilaterally, only 10% of the patients presents bilaterally. The most common symptom is pain on shoulder and back that increases with movement. The tumor may be overlooked during the routine physical examination. Two patients were admitted our clinic with back pain. Unilateral mass on the subscapuler area was found with physical examination in both of the patient. After the radiological interventions we saw that ED was bilaterally in two patients. The patients were operated in a single treatment. ED was resected bilaterally. Without a meticulous physical examination, ED can be undetermined because of it’s localization. Radiological examination is important especially on diagnosis of bilaterally ED hence preventing a secondary operation.
