Abstract

Pericardial cysts are rare benign congenital lesions. Most pericardial cysts are asymptomatic and they can stay silent even reach massive sizes. They are classically located in the anterior mediastinum at the cardiophrenic angle, but occasionally they can be found atypic location. In this paper a case of pericardial cyst located right ventricular output tract and pulmonary artery causing pulmonary hypertention has been reported. Diagnosis was performed computed tomographic scans and surgery performed using median sternotomy without cardiopulmonary bypass. Postoperative course was excellent and the histobiochemical analysis of the mass was reported benign pericardial cyst.
