Abstract

Abstract

Carcinoid tumors are low-grade malignant lesions of the bronchial system. Complete surgical resection is proposed, saving as much lung parenchyma as possible for treatment. Our patient had a typical carcinoid tumor located at the division of the left upper and lower lobar bronchus. We completely resected and reconstructed the lobar carina invaded by tumor without resecting any lung parenchyma. Although it is technically demanding, lobar carina resection, reported in a limited number of papers in the literature, can be successfully performed in appropriate cases, (Tur Toraks Der 2010; 11: 131-3)
